China-CEEC investment promotion agency meeting to be held

During the second session of the China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo, a large number of important enterprises and organizations will turn up in Ningbo. It is learned from the media briefing held on the afternoon of May 30 that the expo this year will consist of five important negotiation and docking activities, which will promote about 200 CEEC investment cooperation projects and attract such prominent enterprises as EBRD, Sinopec, CRRC and Sinomec.

The major activities of the expo include the 3rd China-CEEC Investment Promote Agency Meeting, the 2nd China-CEEC Investment Cooperation Fair, the 3rd China-CEEC Business Cooperation Meeting, the Hungary-China Investment and Trade Cooperation Forum, and Ningbo-CEEC Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony. The negotiation activities, focusing on the cooperation and interaction of investment agencies, investment enterprises, major countries and chambers of commerce, aim to improve the scale and level of China-CEEC economic and trade cooperation and promote the bilateral cultural and educational cooperation.

Reportedly, the China-CEEC Investment Cooperation Fair attracts 269 delegates from 14 municipalities and provinces including Beijing and Shanghai, from about 20 central state-owned enterprises such as AVIC International, China Communications Construction and Huarun Group, and such prominent companies as Schneider Electric and Mitsubishi Electric. At the fair, about 200 investment cooperation projects from the CEEC countries will be promoted, involving such industries as real estate, tourism, basic construction, energy, education, aviation, logistics, food, and information technology. Meanwhile, the "China-CEEC investment cooperation report" will be issued.

As the guest of honor for the 2nd China-CEEC Expo, Hungary will launch a special Hungary-China Investment and Trade Cooperation Forum. With the focus on the "one belt, one road" initiative and the promotion of the Hungary-China investment and trade, the forum will organize the promotion of the investment environment in Hungary and, introduction of the export and the CEEC (Ningbo) Industrial Park, and the agreement signing ceremony for the cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, culture, and tourism.

According to Ningbo Business Commission, so far, Ningbo has approved 41 enterprises to invest in the CEEC countries, with a total investment volume of US$190 million. Over the past two years, seven enterprises have started their investment in the CEEC countries, with an investment volume of US$160 million, accounting for 84.2% of the total. In 2015, Ningbos import volume for consumers goods from the CEEC countries stood at US$11.55 million, up by 63% over the previous year.

It is also learned from the media briefing that the 3rd China-CEEC Business Cooperation Meeting for the Business Associations will be held on June10, which has attracted about 100 delegates from the 16 CEEC countries.
