The African Cristal Festival, a Pan-African summit for the communication and media industries, ran from 1 to 3 October in Morocco, where an international panel of leading creatives rewarded the best advertising campaigns created and broadcasted over the continent. Among the winners, marketing communications brand JWT stood out with a total of 17 accolades including a Grand Prix, four Gold, four Silver and five Bronze medals, a Special award, third place as Agency of the Year (won by JWT Cairo), and second place as Network of the Year won by the group.

The Grand Prix was snagged by JWT Cairo s Swimming Mangoes commercial for Nestl s Dolceca brand, along with three gold medals in Film and a Special award. Their Magdy campaign for Vodafone Egypt scored them an additional Gold and two Silver awards in the Film and Integrated categories while their OSN TerribleAccident campaign took a Silver and Bronze Film award. The team s Chiclets Revamp advert for Mondelez also earned them a Bronze Film award.

In East Africa the JWT Kenya team landed a Silver award in the Film category for their Twaweza citizen centred initiative while Scanad Kenya won a Bronze Film award for their MShwari campaign for Safari.com. Scanad Uganda received a Bronze in Press for their Raised to 8 campaign for MOA Exhaust and a Bronze in Outdoor for their Warid Telecom campaign, Sun Dialing.

JWT Cairo was recently ranked third in the world amongst creative agencies by WARC, which tracks 75 effectiveness and strategy competitions globally to identify the world s smartest agencies.
