Cleveland, Ohio (March 27, 2025) - Telos Alliance and Syndicate of Sounds are partnering to open listeners' ears to multichannel audio at this year's NAB Show in Las Vegas with live demonstrations of immersive D j Vu stereo-to-5.1 audio upmixing technology.
Frank Foti, Omnia Audio founder and Telos Alliance Executive Chairman, is enthusiastic about the excitement that multichannel audio can impart to listeners. Music heard in 5.1 surround sound offers an immersive experience that stereo simply cannot match, he says. It allows listeners to feel as if they are inside the music, surrounded by the instruments and vocals, creating a more engaging and emotional connection to the performance.
In fact, Frank is so passionate about the emotional connection that music in surround sound brings to both personal and live venue listening experiences that he founded Syndicate of Sounds to promote this advanced, proprietary upmixing technology and to inform broadcasters and music streamers about the audience-winning wow factor of immersive music.
My life's goal has been to create listening experiences that truly capture listeners, says Frank. This has been my philosophy behind Omnia for decades. D j Vu ups the ante by transforming stereo content to give listeners a whole new way to experience their favorite music - in discrete 5.1 surround sound. It's like you're sitting in with the band! You've got to hear it to believe it. In fact, last year's demo in the Telos Alliance booth was in such demand that this year, we're giving D j Vu its own space with an optimized listening environment. How cool is that?
D j Vu is a plugin-based solution that comes as a VST, AU, and AAX plugin, making it compatible with nearly every major broadcast and production platform, playout software, streaming encoder, and DAW. It's also an option in select Telos Alliance Z/IPStream R/20 streaming encoder hardware and Z/IPStream X/20 streaming software.
D j Vu takes music to a higher level, says Foti, providing listeners with a truly immersive experience in environments like automobiles. It also transforms streaming audio channels, where listeners can enjoy surround music streamed to their home AVR, or to the new generation of spatial audio headphones.
