Vitec Group s Creative Solutions Acquires Offhollywood

Creative Solutions is pleased to announce that its parent, The Vitec Group plc, has acquired the assets of Offhollywood Digital LLC, a camera accessories manufacturer, equipment rental and production services provider. Founded in 2003 by Aldey Sanchez and Mark L. Pederson, Offhollywood has focused on bringing emerging technologies and workflows to filmmakers worldwide. Offhollywood will be incorporated into the Vitec Group's Creative Solutions business, which includes Teradek, Paralinx, and SmallHD.

Offhollywood designs and manufactures popular camera accessories for the RED camera ecosystem. These include the HotLink and the new OMOD, a line of camera-back modules that extend the functionality of RED cameras by providing video and power I/O, lens control, audio, timecode, etc. Offhollywood also made a name for themselves as a rental facility with expertise in technically complex projects like HDR, 4K, 3D and 360 VR productions.

Offhollywood is an essential player in the community of creatives and technologists that brought us the digital cinema revolution. This acquisition reflects our vision of Creative Solutions as a laboratory for creative collaboration between industry pioneers and innovative engineering teams, said Nicol Verheem, CEO - Creative Solutions.

Offhollywoods facility in Brooklyn, NY, will house the new Creative Solutions New York (CSNY) showroom. Much like the West Coast's CSLA, CSNY will serve to outfit, educate and support filmmakers in the greater New York production community. Products from all Creative Solutions brands will be sold and supported.

We are already seeing the benefit of this collaboration with the release at NAB of our new OMOD product family. By partnering with the Creative Solutions engineering team we were able to rapidly develop and bring to market a unique line of modules for the new RED cameras, overcoming obstacles that otherwise would have been insurmountable, added Mark L. Pederson, co-founder and CEO of Offhollywood.
