tve launches Awards

Today tve launches the sixth tve Global Sustainability Film Awards in association with Fastflow Group.

Media charity tve calls on companies to enter their films in a film competition showcasing the best of corporate sustainability worldwide

From L'Oreal to HSBC and Adidas, we've had brilliant contenders in our highly competitive film Awards,' says tve awards coordinator Rollo Gordon. We welcome companies from across the globe, large and small, to show how they're leading the way in sustainability.'

From today, Thursday 20 April, the competition welcomes films in three categories reflecting the Sustainable Development Goals:

Protecting the environment

Transforming society

Reshaping the economy

It's a tough competition. The closing date for entries is Friday 29 September, and after shortlisting on Monday 9 October, submitted films will be judged by a panel including sustainability communications strategist Victoria Brooks, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's James Birch, filmmaker Rob Benfield, Simon Evans of Eco-Age, and Planet First's head of communications Louise Bateman. Nick Nuttall, head of communications and spokesperson for the UN climate change agency UNFCCC, chairs the judges panel. The winners are announced at a gala on Monday, 27 November at BAFTA (The British Academy of Film and Television Arts) in London's Piccadilly.

We don't want platitudes,' says David Morley, former global senior partner at leading law firm Allen & Overy and this year's Awards president. We want the Awards to provide a platform for an honest discussion, through film, about the very real challenges and benefits of sustainability.'
