Object Matrix is immensely proud to have been selected as the Technology Business of the Year, Cardiff, 2019. It's no small honour. As the capital of Wales, Cardiff is a vibrant multicultural city, and with access to many talented people. It has convenient access to London and the city is growing and thriving. In the tech sector Tech Nation states that there are around 100 new tech companies starting in Cardiff every year and well over 21,000 digital techies employed. Cardiff truly has global impact.

The honour was made at the Cardiff Business Awards a prestigious event held at the City Hall with awards recognising those that are making a difference to Cardiff across a range of categories.

We were of course honoured to be shortlisted for two different categories: Technology Business of the Year and International Business of the Year. We were especially pleased given the compelling competition we were up against. Our involvement in the Global Welsh has taught us, amongst other things, that local passion and global impact go hand in hand.

With the shortlist announced, last week we donned our dinner jackets and headed to the award ceremony. The evening was a fantastic opportunity to meet, and to share the odd glass of wine with, other finalists. The night ended well, with us named Technology Business of the Year in recognition of our solutions that are revolutionizing digital storage for the media industry.

The panel of judges, which was made up from a number of local business and council leaders, were impressed with the impact our solutions have for our customers, enabling them to monetize their entire archive, reduce operational costs, and ultimately become more competitive.
