It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. What a profound truth! A realization that eases the grip of life on man surrendering to God in all things. Partake in this feast as we consume food for the soul, nourishing the spirit in Breaking Bread. THE CROSS OF CALVARY BRINGS SALVATION Calvary is the place where the biggest event of all time happened. It is the place where a bridge was built to fill the gap between God and us as human beings. There were three crosses on Calvary namely the cross of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, in the middle and both sides of Him two crosses for two murderers. All three crosses looked similar but had different meanings. In the middle was the cross of reconciliation and on both sides the crosses of warning and encouragement.

The cross in the middle became the focal point of Calvary. The big secret of this cross is that this cross is actually our cross because Jesus died on this cross so that we can have forgiveness for our sins. At this cross we learn about the ugliness of sin and the greatness of the love of God for us. We learn to die in order to live again. Jesus paid the debt for our sins, so that we can have forgiveness of sin eternally.

Jesus gives us through this cross in the middle, the gift of salvation, forgiveness and an eternal life. He gives us a spiritual life, eternal life and abundant life.

Let this cross in the middle be the focus point of our lives today. Let us choose the cross in the middle, let us choose Jesus.

PRAYER Thank You Lord Jesus for dying on the cross in the middle of Calvary. Thank you for shedding Your blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Please help us to make the cross in the middle our focus point in our daily lives. Amen.

Jesus het vir ons deur die kruis die offer van redding, vergifnis en ewige lewe geskenk. Omdat die bloed van n onskuldige moes vloei, was Christus die volmaakte en enigste soenoffer vir ons sondes: Hy is die versoening vir ons sondes (1Petrus2:2). Omdat Sy bloed moes vloei vir ons, is ons instaat om gemeenskap met die Vader en n ewige lewe in die Hemel te geniet. Ons kan weet dat die bloed van Jesus al ons sondes oordek en ons witter as sneeu was.

Wat moet ons visie van die kruis wees? Ons moet aan die voet van die kruis staan en die purper druppels tel waardeur ons gereinig is. Was ons al by Golgota? Christus het vir ons gesterf. Leef ons vir Hom? Ons moet as gelowiges verklaar dat geen opoffering te groot is om te maak ter wille van Hom wat Sy lewe vir ons gegee het nie.

Ons almal is bewus van verkiesings wat na n paar jaar in lande in die wereld gehou word. Mense moet dan hul kruisie trek agter die party van hul keuse. Met ons kruisie hoop ons dat die party van ons keuse iets sal doen wat van ons land n beter plek sal maak. Die evangelies van Mattheus, Lukas en Markus vertel ons ook hoe daar ook n verkiesing in die wereld georganiseer is op die eerste Goeie Vrydag (lees Mattheus 27:11-31; Lukas 23:17-25; Markus 15:6-15). Pilatus het twee candidate daar gestel: Jesus en Barnabas. Die Kerk was op hierdie Goeie Vrydag voor n keuse gestel: Jesus of Barrabbas, die weg van verlossing deur Jesus alleen of die weg van selfverlossing. Ons weet watter keuse gemaak is op daardie Goeie Vrydag.

Ons moet vandag die regte keuse in ons lewe maak. Ons moet in ons sondedal van sonde wat alles stukkend maak en verwoes, weet dat daar een is wat ons van ons sonde kan verlos en ons lewe weer heel maak: Jesus Christus. Hoe moet ons die kruisie agter die kruis van Jesus maak? Deur aan almal te verkondig dat net Hy en Hy alleen ons kan red.

GEBED Dankie Here dat U vir ons gekruisig is sodat ons verlossing van sondes kan ontvang.Help ons om gedurig te fokus op die middelste kruis waaraan U gehang het want hierdie kruis bring verlossing,vergifnis en n ewige lewe. Amen.
