Shooting for Pssica, a Netflix Miniseries Directed by Quico and Fernando Meirelles, Has Started in Par

S o Paulo, July 5, 2024 - Pssica, Netflixs new Brazilian miniseries, directed by Quico and Fernando Meirelles, started shooting this week in Bel m, in the state of Par . This four-episode action drama is based on the book of the same name by Edyr Augusto, writer from Par .

The plot focuses on three characters whose lives become intertwined when they meet on the Atlantic side of the Amazon - Janalice (Domithila Catete), a victim of human trafficking; Pre (Lucas Galvino), who must make peace with his fate as the leader of a local criminal organization known as the "water rats"; and Mariangel (Marleyda Soto), who is seeking to avenge the deaths of her family. All three of them must try to break the curse, or "pssica," that they believe has been cast on them.

With a screenplay by Br ulio Mantovani, Fernando Garrido and Stephanie Degreas, and with Andrea Barata Ribeiro and Fernando Meirelles as producers for O2 Filmes , Pssica offers a riveting, immersive journey deep into the north of Brazil. The series also features Ademara, Bruno Goya, Claudio Jaborandy, Luca Dan, Ricardo Teodoro, Sandro Guerra, Welket Bungu , and Wesley Guimar es.
