Rising Sun Pictures is sending a team of representatives to SIGGRAPH 2014 to discuss its work on the recent film X-Men: Days of Future Past and to recruit artists for future projects including Gods of Egypt, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, Deadline Gallipoli, Pan & Tarzan. The 41st International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Technologies, SIGGRAPH 2014 takes place 10-14 August in Vancouver, British Columbia.
RSP will be an active participant in the SIGGRAPH Job Fair (Booth 4). Recruitment leads Marcus Wells and Sara Henschke, and director of production technology Kevin Campbell will conduct interviews across all disciplines. The studio currently has a wide range of open positions, including supervisors, trackers and match-movers, environment artists, shader writers, mid- and senior-level compositors, lighters (Mantra) and Houdini effects specialists. The Job Fair runs Tuesday, 12 August, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, 13 August, 9:30 am- 3:30 p.m.; and Thursday, 14 August, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Additionally, RSP's DFX Supervisor Adam Paschke will take part in a Production Session titled Twentieth Century Fox Presents the Visual Effects of X-Men: Days of Future Past'. He will discuss the creative and technical challenges for the studio in creating the time-bending Quicksilver Pentagon Kitchen sequence for the film. Other panelists will include Benoit Dubuc, Animation Supervisor, MPC; and Lou Pecora, VFX Supervisor, Digital Domain. The session takes place at the Vancouver Convention Centre, West Building, Ballroom C/D on Thursday, 14 August from 3:45 - 5:15 p.m.
