TBS, Inc. Names Scott Porter Senior Vice...

Turner Broadcasting announced today that Scott Porter has been appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Corporate, for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.). In his new role, Porter will lead human resources strategy and execution in partnership with senior leaders for Turner's corporate functions, including Corporate Communications, Finance & Accounting, Global Technology & Operations, Legal, Research and Turner Media Group. He is based in Atlanta, and reports to Angela Santone, Senior Vice President, and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Porter returns to Turner following seven years with Taylor English Duma LLP, a full-service law firm where most recently he was an equity partner in the labor and employment practice group serving clients including Turner Broadcasting and the Atlanta Braves. Previously, Porter served as counsel and senior counsel for eight years in the Turner legal department supporting CNN and other company divisions on a variety of employment law related matters, including contracts for employees, executives and on-air talent and strategic partnership with HR and business leaders on other issues.

Scott's knowledge of Turner's business and company culture, combined with the depth and breadth of his employment law and strategic HR consulting experience make him ideally skilled to assume this important role, and I'm delighted to have him as a member of our HR executive team, Santone said.

Porter earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and a juris doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Georgia Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association, where he is a member of the Employment Law and Sports and Entertainment Law Sections.
