From July 1, Arvato will handle all e-Commerce logistics and returns processing for the Krefeld-based Fressnapf group's online shop. In this connection, Fressnapf founder Torsten Toeller and Arvato Board member Frank Schirrmeister today inaugurated a specially converted logistics facility at Arvato's new site in Heideloh. Originally commissioned in 1995 as a picking and shipping warehouse for Neckermann, the distribution center on the A9 autobahn in Gro z beritz has excellent transport links, making it ideal for e-commerce retail's time-critical processes.

The Fressnapf group is the market leader in pet supplies. The group currently is comprised of more than 1,400 specialty stores in twelve European countries. The companys digital business has undergone a continuously positive evolution since the online shop was launched in 2009. In fiscal 2014, the online business contributed 50 million to the group's total turnover of more than 1.67 billion. With 8,000 products available in the online shop and more than one million packages shipped last year, Fressnapf clearly underlines its position as a cross-channel retailer.

More than 100 employees will work at the 23,000 m distribution center. The extensive conversion work was begun in April 2015, and an average daily volume of up to 5,000 packages will be shipped to customers from Heideloh by early July at the latest.
