The Art & Science of Beer featuring Charlie The Pope of Foam' Bamforth by The Department of The 4th Dimension (The D4D), was named Best Short Documentary at last night's Taste Awards gala. The film is part of the Onward California series created by The D4D for the University of California.

The Art & Science of Beer follows Charlie The Pope of Foam' Bamforth through the brewing process, from milling the grain, to how beer saved the world, to pouring the perfect pint. The short film features Charlie's work at UC Davis and is just one of many inspiring explorations featured in the UC's Onward California documentary series. It's particularly exciting for us to be recognized by the Taste Awards for our work with the University and Charlie, comments filmmaker and The D4D creative director Matt Checkowski. We're all really proud of the work, and it is incredible to be honored with this talented group of storytellers. The Taste Awards are the highest awards in the lifestyle entertainment industry. The premier broadcast awards celebrate the years best achievements in Food, Fashion, Home and Lifestyle programs on television, in film, and online. The red carpet event was held in Hollywood on January 16th at the historic Egyptian Theater and featured culinary celebrities from Food Network, Bravo and The Travel Channel.
