For Reality Check Services (RCS), clients' and potential clients' desire to move to cloud-based remote production is turning into real-world action, with the current pandemic crisis causing production professionals to work in new ways.
Says RCS President Andrew Heimbold, It is clear that this is now far more urgent than ever before. The most common request we are fielding at the moment is [to get] set up quickly and easily given travel restrictions and also without incurring significant costs for a solution that may only be temporary.
RCS's Andrew Heimbold says the company has seen an increase in interest in cloud-based platforms for remote production.
The company's Singular.live platform has seen a big surge in uptake, providing seamless insertion of real-time, broadcast-quality overlays into live streams along with robust data integration for driving advanced data visualizations. It also features intuitive controls for managing real-time graphics production, scalable cloud-based infrastructure, and a video player, control app, and widget SDKs, as well as REST API for integration with third-party platforms. It requires no long-term commitments or no dedicated hardware and is compatible with a very wide range of the compatible production software and applications.
With little to no requirement for hardware, depending on workflow, and no contracts or commitments needed, cloud-native platforms provide the perfect solution for clients of all sizes, says Heimbold. In the last week alone, our team has been working with the largest networks, federations, and OTT platforms in the U.S. to set up at-home' production capabilities for both operators and talent. It is quite incredible to see the creativity being shown by clients trying to figure out how to stay on-air and reach audiences with new, live content.
RCS has been working with esports publishers and producers to move their entire production operation to the cloud using Singular along with new remote at-home workflows for the largest U.S. sports entities.
