Wide range of organisations offer advice to visitors at UK's essential broadcast and production event
BVE 2015 is pleased to have the support and endorsement of many organisations and associations across the content creation and delivery sectors. From BECTU to SMPTE, these industry experts will be appearing across the seminar programme and in the Skills & Networking Zone to offer invaluable advice and share knowledge with visitors. BVE 2015 takes place from 24-26 February 2015 at ExCeL London.
Alison Willis, Event Director, said, We're very pleased that these associations are so involved with BVE. A key remit of industry associations is to help their members stay up to date with industry trends, technologies and standards and BVE shares this goal. We are grateful to these organisations for their support and the knowledge base they bring to our visitors.
Industry associations can be seen and heard in many of the seminar theatres. Highlights include:
The Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT) present a topical double feature on live production spectaculars, with a case study on commercially sustainable business models for live production masterpieces (Producers' Theatre, Tues 24 Feb, 12.45), followed by the practical aspects of simulcasting live shows (Production Theatre, Tues 24 Feb, 13.45)
John Ive, Director of Business Development & Technology, IABM will chair the Broadcast Tech & Workflow Theatre's sessions on Tuesday 24 February. Members of the IABM Training Academy will also take part in panel discussions on Troubleshooting workflow challenges' (Tues 24 Feb, 13.15) and Asset Management: Crucial steps to take in ensuring your content becomes the asset' (Wed 25 Feb, 15.15).
A panel entitled I want to be a Broadcast Engineer! Get me into here!' will include Peter Weitzel, Hon Sec and Treasurer, SMPTE, and Russell Trafford Jones, a member of the SMPTE UK Graduate Initiative Panel (Broadcast Tech & Workflow Theatre, Thurs 26 Feb, 13.45). SMPTE also presents a panel discussion on technical issues to be aware of to ensure efficient and harmonious working (Production Theatre, Thurs 26 Feb, 10.45)
Simon Bishop, Chairman, Institute of Professional Sound, presents a session on producing good sound on a budget (Production Theatre, Thurs 26 Feb, 15.30)
Simon Spanswick, CEO, Association of International Broadcasters (AIB), will chair a panel session called We're LIVE in 3,2,1 Tools to creatively capture live audiences' (Production Theatre, Tues 24 Feb, 15.20)
