EVS Successfully Participates In Latest JT-NM Testimg To Confirm Compatibility With Leading IP Ecosystem posted: 16/09/2019

XT-VIA live video production server with Multicam 16.2 operating system achieves IP flow, configuration and management interoperability

EVS, the leading provider of live video technology for broadcast and new media productions, today announced that its XT-VIA next-generation live production server has passed the Joint Task Force for Networked Media (JTNM) testing for IP interoperability. The server, which was running the latest Multicam 16.2 operating system, passed SMPTE ST.2110-10/20/21/30/40 and JT-NM TR-1001-1 and AMWA (Advanced Media Workflow Association) NMOS IS04-05.

The successful participation proves interoperability not only of A/V flows (SMPTE ST.2110), but also for configuration and management. Through a series of APIs, the NMOS protocol enables network device discovery, registration and connection management between different network end points.

The JT-NM is a self-coordinating group led by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and Video Services Forum (VSF). It partners with vendors and users to provide information that aids the transition to IP. As the industry's use of IP matures, the JT-NM Tested program offers prospective purchasers of IP-based equipment greater, more documented insight into how vendor equipment conforms to the SMPTE standards and AMWA NMOS specifications.

The successful testing of EVS' XT-VIA production server represents a continuation in our commitment to IP standardization and native IP solutions that drive more efficient live production while moving the media industry toward one common IP-based mechanism. In May 2019, EVS announced that its latest XT production servers had successfully passed JT-NM SMPTE ST 2110 testing. They were among the first products - and the first live production servers - to be produced and shipped with full IP interoperability, consistent with the AIMS Alliance roadmap and industry-agreed open standards.
