NUGEN Audio Signs Distribution Deal with Australias Amber Technology

NUGEN Audio, creator of intuitive tools for audio professionals, has struck a deal with Australian distributor Amber Technology to sell and support NUGEN products in Australia and New Zealand. NUGEN Audios loudness metering and correction solutions will expand Amber Technologys existing portfolio of audio-processing tools for broadcast, music, and post-production applications.

"We already provide loudness metering and correction solutions for critical real-time environments such as live broadcast and transmission, but some of our key customers have been asking for additional tools that can operate efficiently in file-based and non-real-time workflows, and also allow them to automate certain processes, said Julius Chan, Amber Technologys specialist sales engineer for audio products in the broadcast and professional segment. "NUGEN is right on the bleeding edge in terms of loudness metering, correction, and true peak limiting tools and offers great value for the money. They came highly recommended by our customers."

Amber Technology represents several other major broadcast and professional audio brands in an expansive portfolio, including Avid(R), Blue(R) Microphones, DPA Microphones, EVS, Radial Engineering(R), Snell, Solid State Logic, and TC Electronic(R). After talking to many of its customers, Amber Technology chose NUGEN Audios software-based loudness metering products for their ability to accommodate file-based workflows in post and ingest, cope with a vast array of plug-in formats for nearly any video/audio workstation, and natively support AAX for Avid Pro Tools(R) clients. Other key requirements were batch processing of archives and a faster-than-real-time, automated workflow.

NUGEN Audios VisLM-H visual loudness monitoring tool, coupled with the ISL intersample true-peak limiter, will be especially valuable for Amber Technologys customers. The combination will give Australian broadcasters confidence that they are compliant with OP-59, the countrys rules for measuring loudness in soundtracks for television broadcasting. In addition, LM-Correct offers no-hassle analysis and correction for solo editors in either a software or stand-alone version, while the Loudness Management Batch tool allows broadcasters to handle a wide variety of audio and video files with batch processing.
