The nominees for the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) were announced on Wednesday 12 October. Singer-songwriters Harry Styles and Taylor Swift lead the pack with seven nominations each. Mzansi amapiano star Musa Keys will be fying the South African flag high in the Best African Act category. He is up against the likes of Burna Boy, Tems and Ghanaian artist Black Sherif.

MTV EMAS NOMINEES ANNOUNCED Grammy award-winning artists Harry Styles and Taylor Swift have both had exceptional years. The two stars have more to celebrate with seven MTV EMA nominations each. They have both scored nominations for Best Artist alongside Adele, Nicki Minaj, Beyonc and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosal a.

In the Best Video category, Styles is nominated for As It Was while Swift is nominated for All Too Well (10 Minute Version). The two are also nominated for Best Pop and Biggest Fans.

Nicki Minaj and Rosal a are tied with five nominations each. The 2022 MTV EMAs are set to take place on Sunday 13 November.

MUSA KEYS SCORES BEST AFRICAN ACT NOMINATION Musa Keys, who is also known as the Tsonga Michael Jackson , has made a name for himself in amapiano with hits like Vula Mlomo, Samarian Boy and Selema (Po Po).

The musician will be representing South Africa at the 2022 MTV EMAs after scoring a nomination for Best African Act. Musa is up against Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Black Sheriff and Zuchu.

MUSA KEYS AT THE SAMAS The amapiano sensation walked away with the coveted Record of the Year Award at the 28th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Musa won the award for his single Vula Mlomo featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi.

The win marked his first-ever SAMA.
