British School Jakarta Elevates the Experience for Student Athletes with HARMAN Professional Solutions

JAKARTA, Indonesia-CSA Indonesia recently outfitted British School Jakarta's massive multi-use Sports Centre with end-to-end HARMAN Professional Solutions audio systems.

British School Jakarta is a world-renowned institution serving over 1,400 students aged three to 18 from Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and around the world. BSJ's Sports Center is one of the best-equipped in Indonesia, with three multi-use basketball courts, a fitness center, dance studio, a rock climbing wall, five tennis courts, extensive outdoor playing fields and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The school needed a comprehensive audio solution to provide sound reinforcement for a variety of matches, tournaments and classes across the different facilities. BSJ hired CSA Indonesia to outfit the complex with an end-to-end HARMAN Professional audio solution comprised of JBL Professional speakers, Crown amplifiers, Soundcraft mixers, dbx signal processors and AKG wireless microphone systems.

To foster a lively environment for the students of the British School Jakarta, the school management decided to implement an end-to-end audio solution for the contemporary Sports Center in the facility, said Setiawan Winarto, CEO, CSA Indonesia. HARMAN is the technology leader in audio equipment, and their market-leading solutions were perfectly suitable for the requirements of the project, based on the type of venue and budget. However, the major challenge was the size of the Sports Center and the customer's unique requirement of the design and installment process. It was important to create a consolidated design that would provide the richness and depth of audio during announcements and performances. HARMAN's scalable audio solutions made it possible to deliver the desired results.

Due to the multitude of different sports and facilities at BSJ, each field, court and gym required a different system configuration. CSA deployed versatile SRX812 loudspeakers and 818S subwoofers in the multi-use basketball courts. The outdoor football and rugby fields needed a durable weatherproof audio solution, which the JBL AWC 129 all-weather loudspeakers were perfectly suited for. The fitness center called for high-fidelity speakers without a large footprint, so CSA installed compact JBL Control 25AV speakers andSB2210 subwoofers. In the yoga/aerobics facility, JBL 8128 in-ceiling speakers provide high-fidelity audio in a cost-effective package.

CSA installed Crown XTi and XLS Series amplifiers to power the different speaker systems throughout the complex. All facilities feature Soundcraft mixers, including the intuitive Si Expression 1, the reliable and cost-effective EPM 8, and the remote-controlled UI12 which allows staff to mix from mobile devices. dbx Driverack PA2 loudspeaker management systems optimize audio and help protect the equipment with features like dbx limiting, AutoEQ, and Advanced Feedback Suppression (AFS). CSA selected AKG wireless microphone systems with SR470 receivers for all facilities. Referees and instructors use hands-free C544 L headsets with PT470 body-pack transmitters, while D5 microphones provide greater clarity for announcers and commentators.
