A Stab in the Dark returns for Miss Scarlet and the Duke special

Tuesday 31st March 2020 The UKTV Original crime podcast, A Stab in the Dark, returns today for a special Miss Scarlet and the Duke episode.

In this episode, award-winning crime novelist Mark Billingham chats to writer and creator, Rachael New, and the leading lady, Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders), about their time on set and what the inspiration was behind the period crime drama.

Miss Scarlet and the Duke is a full-throttle series about the first ever female detective in Victorian London. When Eliza Scarlets (Kate Phillips) father dies, he leaves her penniless in a time where marriage is the only option for financial security. However, being determined to stand on her own two feet, Eliza takes over her fathers detective agency and works with Detective Inspector William Wellington of Scotland Yard, aka the Duke (Stuart Martin - Jamestown), to solve crimes in 1880s London.

Previous guests on the podcast have included Amelia Bullmore, Laura Fraser and Val McDermid for a Traces special last year, along with David Morrissey, Mark Gatiss, Ian Rankin and many more. All episodes of A Stab in the Dark are available to listen and subscribe to via iTunes and Acast.
