What Happens When the GoPro Snow Team Goes Heli Skiing

Welcome to the 2019 GoPro Backcountry Camp-CMH Monashees Edition.

For three days in March, the GoPro Snow Team got together in British Columbia to ride some of the most pristine, untouched powder we've seen all year. Armed with the power of a CMH heli in the Monashees and years of backcountry knowledge, the result was also unlike anything we've seen all year or ever, really. And here's the epic party line to prove it.

Travis Rice. Jamie Anderson. Bobby Brown. Sage Kotsenburg. Ted Ligety. Elena Hight. Chris Benchetler. Torstein Horgmo. And @GimbalGod, aka Spencer Whiting. We dare say that there is nowhere else in the world that you'd find a more decorated, yet diverse, group of snow athletes.

Every competing athlete has a gold medal to their name-either Olympic or an X Games gold medal or both. Which is why basically every moment documented is straight gold, too.

The mutual adoration that occurs at an event like this is something very special, explains GoPro Snow Team Manager Davey Smidt. Jamie and Travis had some insane moments-big tricks, off big features. That juxtaposed with how gracefully Benchetler surfs the mountain, and how Ted brings an amazing level of control from alpine to the backcountry. Plus, this is the first time Gimbal God and Travis rode together. Its all time.

Getting a crew like this together to shred backcountry is once-in-a-lifetime for all parties involved, and to make it even more unique, the team got one-on-one time with some of GoPro's elite filmers to test product, provide feedback, and learn more about capturing content and effective social sharing.

Once all the content was gathered and the education absorbed, there was nothing left to do but bond. This is when we got the chance to sit down with each legend in attendance and find out the high and low moments of their trip.

Jamie Anderson

What was your high moment?

Being around all these amazing humans who I get to call teammates.

And your low?

Following Benchetler after he did a 360 off a wind lip and I thought I could back three, but no-I went down.

Chris Benchetler

What was your high moment?

Being surprised by the amazing conditions after we heard it wasn't going to be that great. And watching Trav do his thing ... very inspiring.

And your low?

Getting pulled off an epic line because of too much sluff.

Bobby Brown

What was your high moment?

Watching Travis rice in person. The way he looks at things. His approach. He is on a whole new level.

And your low?

Tomahawk the first day ... all of the first day.

Elena Hight

What was your high moment?

Being with this crew.

And your low?

Everyone got a food named after them except me on the last night.

Gimbal God

What was your high moment?

Filming tracks with Travis Rice and his mental back seven.

And your low?

Overshooting a jump with Torstein. Aggressive ragdoll, but still got the shot.

Ted Ligety

What was your high moment?

The first day's last zone was amazing. The light was perfect, and we got so lucky to find that before we went home.

And your low?

Waking up the last morning. That was a fun night.

Torstein Horgmo

What was your high moment?

Sunset lines on the first night and staying out till 8 p.m. with Trav, Sage and Bobby.

And your low?

Can't think of one. It was too good!

Sage Kotsenburg

What was your high moment?

Highlight was arriving ...

And your low?

Lowlight was leaving! The crew was all time, and the snow was amazing, no complaints!

Travis Rice

What was your high moment?

My highlight was riding that chute named L'Aperitit yesterday afternoon.

And your low?

And lowlight, my trip is over
