Technical Director / Vision Mixer

Bringing programme into whole during transmission, Ensuring that the crews are briefed on running order of shows and are kept up to date of changes, Ensuring the smooth running of production at all times either live or pre-recorded, Liaising with producers with regards to production and script

Ensuring crew call in on time for productions

Liaising directly with producer of shows

Lining up of technical equipment

Making sure that the final product is up to broadcast standards

Operating as TD or TD/vision mixer in live and pre-record environment

Overseeing the technical crew in studio and other related fields

Work in a multi camera and outside broadcast environment

Requirements:

Ability to manage presenters while on air

Ability to manage studio crew and call times of crew

Ability to manage studio requests and the discipline of the crew

Ability to trouble shoot

Ability to work under pressure

Full knowledge of broadcast equipment and sources including ENG, Transmission equipment, linear and non-linear editing and vision control

Be computer literate

Good understanding of the mechanics of television production

Have leadership qualities and give commands

Understand of production systems - including capturing, programme origination, automation, editing and play out

Understanding of control room hardware and digital equipment

Understanding of production systems - including capturing, programme origination, automation, editing and play out

Understanding of shot descriptions ability to take direction

Understanding of broadcasting environment and production

Understanding of role players and television language

Good communication skills

Operate in a live and pre-record environment

Team player
