
Sony and Swisscom presents the first fully virtual sector workflow La prueba conceptual de un flujo de trabajo de producci n llevada a cabo en el Festival de Lorcano supone la primera aplicaci n del mezclador virtual y Media Backbone HIVE de Sony.
Sony y el operador suizo Swisscom presentaron en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Locarno la primera plataforma para producci n en directo y posproducci n realmente nativa en la nube para la entrega multicanal en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Locarno. Combinaron Media Backbone HIVE de Sony, tecnolog a de streaming en directo y el innovador mezclador virtual de Sony con centros de datos seguros, la nube y la red m vil 4G de primera clase de Swisscom para ofrecer contenido en directo y de v deo bajo demanda en el primer flujo de trabajo de producci n virtualizado de su clase. Esta configuraci n nativa en la nube permite una creaci n de contenido eficaz para productores y cadenas de televisi n de cualquier escala.
Sony y Swisscom han puesto en funcionamiento con xito un flujo de trabajo totalmente virtual en el Festival de Cine de Locarno. Gracias a este paso adelante en la innovaci n, los equipos del Festival de Cine de Locarno pudieron capturar contenido de forma inal mbrica conectados a camcorders XDCAM de Sony e incluso smartphones. El material obtenido se transmit a a continuaci n a la nube de Swisscom a trav s de su red m vil 4G. Los editores pod an acceder al contenido proxy que llegaba a la nube mientras el equipo de c maras segu a en el lugar de grabaci n y comenzar a editar usando el editor web Media Backbone Hive para una publicaci n rapid sima. A diferencia de lo que suced a en a os anteriores, esta completa plataforma de producci n nativa en la nube dio a los equipos del festival la oportunidad de producir contenido de v deo a la carta adem s del contenido en directo para el p blico que llega a trav s de Internet. El equipo tambi n pudo utilizar Adobe Premiere, integrado a la perfecci n en la plataforma, para un obtener un efecto m s sofisticado.
Los tres principales localizaciones fijas del festival, en las que se sit a la producci n tradicional, se estaban equipadas con CBK-WA100, los m dulos inal mbricos compactos de Sony y adaptadores LTE/4G de Swisscom, que transmit an en directo al mezclador virtual. De este modo, el equipo a cargo de las redes sociales pod a tomar cualquier contenido que quisiera para su programa diario en directo a trav s de Facebook, Good Morning, Locarno, sin tener que enviar a m s gente al lugar en cuesti n.
A prueba de entornos exigentes
La plataforma se utiliz durante los de diez d as del festival a trav s de un servicio bajo demanda que proporcion un nivel de flexibilidad que antes no era posible. Urs Lehner, responsable de clientes empresariales en Swisscom, comenta que ofrecer el primer flujo de trabajo de este tipo verdaderamente nativo en la nube en el Festival de Cine de Locarno ha sido un logro fant stico. Entendemos las presiones de tiempo a las que se enfrenta todo el mundo, ya sean las cadenas, las empresas de producci n y los creadores de contenido, en la era digital de la inmediatez. Este es el primer paso para que la tecnolog a en la nube sea m s accesible para los equipos de retransmisi n peque os y, al mismo tiempo, se reduzcan los costes .

Este proyecto supone una demostraci n del objetivo que comparten Sony y Swisscom de ofrecer modelos empresariales din micos a nuestros clientes, que aumentan el n mero de oportunidades para los gastos operativos, con objeto de poner esta tecnolog a innovadora al alcance de cadenas de cualquier tama o , a ade.
El flujo de trabajo de producci n ampliable es el ideal para quienes desean evitar una inversi n excesiva en infraestructuras de producci n en directo y, en cambio, buscan obtener un acceso sencillo a los conjuntos de herramientas para la producci n orquestados por e2e y que son necesarios durante un periodo de tiempo limitado.
Este flujo de trabajo totalmente virtualizado se basa en xitos anteriores de Sony y Swisscom. Ya en 2015 usaron por primera vez el streaming directo QoS (Quality of Service) del camcorder XDCAM y la red m vil 4G de Swisscom para hacer gala de una entrega de cobertura en directo rentable. Sony y Swisscom est n optimizando el flujo de trabajo lineal tradicional para obtener un ahorro de costes del 30 % m nimo. En 2016, esta asociaci n estrat gica consigui la integraci n de las transmisiones en directo en un mezclador virtual basado en la nube, alojado en el centro de datos de Swisscom. As se redujo toda la producci n a solo unos pocos camcorders activados de forma inal mbrica y un PC. Ahora, en 2017, han establecido una plataforma virtual para la posproducci n en la nube.
