Wendi McLendon-Covey to Host MUAHS Awards, Feb 4

Wendi McLendon-Covey will host the Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS)honoring both make-up artists and hair stylists outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater.

Presenters for the MUAHS Awards include Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story: Freak Show), Darby Stanchfield (Scandal), Alfre Woodard (State of Affairs), Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black), Jillian Rose Reed (Awkward), Jamie Brewer (American Horror Story: Freak Show) and Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead), with more to be announced.

The black tie event will be held Saturday, February 14, at Paramount Studios Theatre, Hollywood. The announcement was made today by Susan Cabral-Ebert, President of IATSE Local 706, who said, I am beyond thrilled with these outstanding celebrities who will take part in our evening celebrating the illustrious work of our make-up artists and hair stylists.

As previously announced, MUAHS Lifetime Achievement Awards will be bestowed on Oscar -winning make-up artist Rick Baker by Emmy -winning producer John Landis, and Emmy -nominated hair stylist Kathryn Blondell by AMPAS President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. Guillermo del Toro, award-winning director, screenwriter, producer and novelist, will receive this year's Distinguished Artisan Award, presented by actor/producer Ron Perlman. Additional awards will honor nominees for outstanding achievements in motion pictures, television, commercials and live theater.

Wendi McLendon-Covey is an actress, writer, producer and comedian. She began her career in the improvisational Comedy Central series Reno 911! (2003-08). McLendon-Covey had the lead role in the Lifetime comedy Lovespring International (2006) and had a recurring role on the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement (2010-13).

Since her breakout performance in Bridesmaids (2011), McLendon-Covey has appeared in a number of films, including What to Expect When Youre Expecting (2012), Tyler Perry's film The Single Moms Club , and Think Like a Man Too (2014). In 2013 McLendon-Covey was cast as a family matriarch in the acclaimed comedy series The Goldbergs, which won her a nomination for a Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Television Comedy Series. She will appear in the upcoming film A WhiteTrash Christmas and in the comedy-dramas Claire's Cambodia and Hello, My Name is Doris, opposite Sally Field, in addition to hosting the comedy reality series Repeat After Me, produced by Ellen DeGeneres, which debuts February 17.
