The National Dairy Council Sponsors Ear to the Ground

03 December 2014: RT today announced that The National Dairy Council has begun a new sponsorship with Ear To The Ground.

This sponsorship began when the long-running and popular rural affairs series returned to RT One with its eclectic mix of food, farming and fun. Presented by Darragh McCullough, Helen Carroll and Ella McSweeney the series explores all corners of the country, debating topical issues and meeting people involved in Ireland's biggest industry.

The sponsorship package includes stings around show and an online presence on the RT Player catch up service.

The NDC's mission is to support Irish dairy farmers through integrated marketing and communications programmes. This makes the NDC a perfect sponsor for RT Ones long-running rural affairs series, which focuses on exploring current issues within the rural community, as well as looking at whats new and innovative in farming today

Zo Kavanagh, Chief Executive of the National Dairy Council said: Ear to the Ground has excelled in bringing the real stories behind farming, the environment and Irish countryside to a wide-reaching audience. The programme successfully spans the rural/urban divide but also plays an important role in raising awareness about where Irish food produce comes from and the stories behind the top quality of food choices available to Irish families. A partnership with Ear to the Ground is a good fit for the NDC, which draws on nutritional expertise to communicate with consumers and families about the role of dairy as part of a balanced diet, whilst promoting the excellence and sustainability of dairy farming in Ireland.

The sponsorship will continue for the next two season of Ear To The Ground. The current series is broadcast every Thursday on RT One at 8:30pm or people can watch back on the RT Player.
