Sharjah to Host XPOSURE 07 International Photography...

Sharjah's immensely successful and popular International Photography Festival, EXPOSURE 2017, will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, from November 22 - 25, 2017 at Expo Centre Sharjah, announced the Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 2nd International Photography Festival XPOSURE 2017 is being organised by Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) from November 22-25, 2017.

The first of its kind event in the region, XPOSURE is an international platform that brings together celebrated photographers and eminent experts from around the world to share their experiences with photography enthusiasts, both professional and amateurs.

HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Council (SMC), said preparations are underway to make the second edition of XPOSURE even more interesting and rewarding with world-class activities and programmes that would add to the achievements of the first edition and enrich Sharjah's cultural scene and vision in supporting creativity.

He pointed out that since its debut last year, the International Photography Festival hosted by Sharjah Government Media Bureau, the media and communication arm of the Sharjah government, has been attracting global attention and recognition and has achieved qualitative results, supporting the local and international photography sector and asserting its importance in the cultural, media and social spheres.

Sharjah's maiden International Festival of Photography celebrated both the Press photography and creative art, exhibiting the work of some of the finest practitioners of the art as well as giving opportunity to amateur enthusiasts.

Setting new trends and creating new benchmarks in the region, XPOSURE 2016 drew the participation of some of the greatest names in the field of photography. Visitors had the opportunity to attend seminars, trade shows, screenings and panel discussions hosted by renowned masters from the world of photography. Workshops conducted as part of the festival ranged from beginner to advanced masterclasses with experts and received huge response.

XPOSURE 2017 is set to bring on board an even bigger talent pool and comprehensive agenda of photography-focused events. The International Photography Festival provides opportunities for professionals and photographers from around the world to meet with photography enthusiasts with the aim of refining their expertise and enhancing their creative abilities with professional skills.

The Festival attracted thousands of visitors, not to mention professionals and experts, from across the world. XPOSURE offered a rich experience that allowed photography experts to share the latest knowledge and techniques and the latest trends in international photography. It also helped promote photography as a rewarding career for young people in the country, putting Sharjah and the UAE on the global map. More than 2,000 participants from 60 countries around the world participated in the photography competitions.

XPOSURE presented live photography experiences to its audience of world-renowned photographers. World renowned photographers and the professional community in general expressed keen interest in the Festival and expressed their deep appreciation for Sharjah's efforts in supporting the photography sector and attracting international professional experiences by showcasing some of the finest works of masters and amateurs.

The International Festival of Photography is a gateway to meet all the needs of photographers. Bringing together a wide range of events and activities -- exhibitions, workshops, screenings, photography competitions and a trade show by international companies -- on a single platform, XPOSURE is a groundbreaking initiative to celebrate and enrich the field of photojournalism in the UAE and the region.
