Imagine Communications and Touring Video Collaborate to Power 4K Live Production Capabilities in TV4 Truck

Powered by Imagine Communications' cutting edge portfolio of large scale routers, multiviewers and signal processing, the demonstration of an entire 4K workflow with 1080p60 resolution will be shown in Touring Video's TV4 53' production trailer. The trailer also includes Imagine Communications' new Selenio MCP Up and Down converters for 4K.

Having a 3G backbone on our TV4 truck made it much easier and more cost effective to transition to UHD using existing infrastructure. This is not a proof of concept it is a fully functional solution that is able to roll off the show floor and produce an 10+-camera UHD show today.

A key enabler in the TV4 trailer is the recently deployed Platinum IP3 router, which integrates mixed-format video and audio routing, multiviewer functionality, mux/demux, frame sync and advanced I/O options such as MADI and fiber all within a single, space-saving frame. This 3G router provides the quad linking and scalability necessary to make UHD possible today. The Selenio Media Convergence Platform offers advanced multichannel, multi-format modules for video and audio processing, compression and multiplexing including Imagine Communications' industry-leading SEL-1UHD-U and SEL-1UHD-D up and down converters for 4K. Other solutions deployed in the TV4 production truck include low-latency Platinum SX Pro Multiviewers, QVM6800+T quad multiviewer plug-in cards and Selenio X50 intelligent frame synchronizer/ converters, all coordinated through a Magellan router control panel. TV4 also features Sony's new ICP X7000 switcher control panel, UHD-4K cameras, monitors and 4K server solutions.
