Autocue Delivers Significant Enhancements To Video Server And Production Suite Solutions

NAB 2013, Stand C8635 Autocue, the home of QTV teleprompters, will showcase significant new developments for their Video Server and Production Suite solutions at NAB.

Autocue's CTO Neil Hutchins elaborates, In the two years since their debut, we've sold hundreds of Servers (and Production Suites). We've quickly built a reputation for offering the functionality you'd expect from a top-end supplier but at a fraction of the cost. Along the way we've had many requests from existing (and potential) customers, culminating in these new releases at NAB.

Further support has been added for third-party control of Autocue's Video Servers, including support for the AMP protocol (which will be demonstrated at NAB with a DNF control system) and extended support for the VDCP protocol, including improved jog/ shuttle operation. Autocue has also added to its considerable list of compatible formats and codecs, providing for MXF OP-atom record and playback.

Autocue's Server and Production Suite GUIs have also been significantly enhanced, including: a completely new GUI which can run on any Windows or Linux workstation on the network as well as locally on the server; a user-definable GUI layout with different skins' to allow different views at different times; multi-user access allowing simultaneous control of different ports on the same server from separate locations; new monitoring gadgets' to show system status for both local and remote machines; audio monitoring, allowing content to be heard as well as seen from the GUI via local speakers; and integrated control of an external hardware router to allow easy source and monitoring selection.

For delay applications, Autocue has added destructive and non-destructive delay looping and audio muting/ switching capability for playback delays. For its unique sports review applications, Autocue has enabled linked recording across multiple ports and quad-review playback and linked playout control allowing simple full-screen output switching from local GUI quad preview. For applications with multiple servers, internal asset transfer control has been added, allowing media to be copied/ moved from one system to another.

As ever, these developments have been delivered by Autocue's engineering team. To enable the engineering team to better support customers through initial installation and after-sales support, remote access has been built-in, enabling the engineering team to establish a direct connection to each server.

Hutchins concludes, We'll continue to push the boundaries of what you can expect from an affordable Server and Production Suite solution we've a host of new developments already planned for release between now and IBC. Thanks to an excellent in-house engineering team we're able to quickly adapt our product to open up new markets and applications.
