On Wednesday 10 May, MPTS opens its two-day programme packed with creative inspiration and technological innovation from the cutting edge of UK film and TV production

Excitement is building as there is just one week to go until the country's largest event for the broadcast media, production and technology industry opens its doors. Peaky Blinders creator and Star Wars screenwriter Steven Knight CBE is just one of many headline guests set to take to the stage at The Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS) on 10 -11 May, at London Olympia.

Knight joins more than 300 confirmed speakers across the two days, featuring on six stages - Keynote, Audio, Production, Post Production, Technology, and Virtual Production. The editorially curated conference is already the biggest MPTS programme ever and the entire show is FREE to attend!

Attendees will have an exclusive opportunity to hear hot off the press' from some of the news organisations who have played a significant part in the broadcast delivery of The Coronation including Sarah Parrish, Senior Producer, Senior Producer, UK Content, BBC News and Maddii Lown, Senior News Editor, Events at Sky News on a panel on 11 May.

Other luminaries speaking at MPTS include BAFTA winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless) and Daniela Neumann, who runs multi-award winning indie Spun Gold TV.

With synthetic media among the most exciting and problematic technologies ever to emerge, this is the optimum moment to hear how the industry should prepare from Jo Plaete, Chief Innovation Officer at Metaphysic, the company behind the famous Tom Cruise deepfakes.

Other top attractions include an exclusive interview with All Quiet On The Western Front sound designer Markus Stemler, who will explain how the BAFTA Award-winning film brought the reality of warfare to audiences.

The creative team behind Academy Award winning animated short The Boy, The Mole, The Fox & The Horse reveal their secrets. Find out how HBO's House Of The Dragon won the 2023 BAFTA Craft Award for Sound: Fiction and take a masterclass in action editing with Nathan Orloff who helped director Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves mastermind John Wick 4.

The booming interest in Virtual Production is reflected in a keynote by BK Johannessen, Unreal Engine Business Director for Broadcast and Live Events at Epic Games. The expanded Virtual Production Theatre is packed with case studies and insights from Pixotope, Absen, Move.aiand disguise with plenty more for visitors to get to grips with on the show floor.

The Post Production and Technology stages features state of the nation panels on cloud, AI, and the skills shortage with leading industry figures from Picture Shop, Envy, Fifty Fifty, Lux Aeterna, Ghost VFX, and Framestore. Plus, with the King's Coronation fresh in our minds, the BBC is here to explain how it used 5G to broadcast the spectacle live.
