Sunday World reports that talented actor Vuyo Biyela, who is known for playing Mlilo Hlophe in The River has joined Mzansi Wethu's first telenovela Sibongile and The Dlaminis.

VUYO BIYELA: NEW ROLE The multi-award-winning actor Vuyo Biyela took to his Facebook account this week to express his gratitude for securing the role of Kwenzo Dlamini in Sibongile and The Dlaminis.

When you're living for God and for the people you will never go wrong, you will always be blessed. Meet Kwenzo Dlamini a young down to earth designer who's for the people, wrote Biyela.

The publication adds that the Mzansi Wethu telenovela is adapted from popular Zambian story Zuba and the Solalas.

Biyela will star alongside Shaka Ilembe actors Siyabonga Shibe and Ayanda Borotho, as well as Bhekani Shabalala, Zodumo Shange and more.

SIBONGILE AND THE DLAMINIS' BACKGROUND Sibongile and The Dlaminis teaser hints that actor Vuyo Biyela will play actors Ayanda Borotho and Siyabonga Shibe's son Kwenzo in the telenovela.

The show follows the journey of Sibongile Mbambo (Luyanda Zwane), an innocent rural young woman forced to leave her family and dreams behind to become a domestic worker in the lavish mansion of the affluent Dlamini family.

The show is set in the small town of Ixopo in KwaZulu-Natal and promises to explore timeless themes of love, sacrifice, ambition, and familial bonds.

Shirley Adonisi, who is director of local entertainment channels at M-Net revealed in a statement to TshisaLIVE that the airing of Sibongile and The Dlaminis will mark a significant milestone in their commitment to deliver diverse and compelling local content.

Rhythm World Productions has once again demonstrated its exceptional storytelling prowess, and their collaboration on this project has been truly remarkable. We are confident that combining their creative genius and our dedicated viewership will make Sibongile and The Dlaminis an unforgettable television experience.

The telenovela will premiere on Monday, 31 July at 6pm on Mzansi Wethu (DStv channel 163).
