Rihanna's return to music following a long hiatus while she focused on her Fenty beauty brand seems to be paying off. The Barbados-born singer is nominated for best song at the 2023 Golden Globe for Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack reports Billboard. This marks her first Golden Globe nomination.

The emotive ballad which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number two is penned by Rihanna in collaboration with the film director Ryan Coogler, Ludwig G ransson, who scored the film and the 2022 Soul Train best new artist Tems.
The nominees for the 80th Golden Globe Awards were announced on 12 December set to return to NBC in January. The network, which has broadcast the Globes since 1996.

LADY GAGA AND TAYLOR SWIFT ALSO NOMINATED This marks Rihanna's first Golden Globe nomination, the Forbes-proclaimed billionaire is up against Lady Gaga who won in the category four years ago for co-writing Shallow from A Star Is Born. Gaga is nominated for Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick a song she co-wrote with Bloodpop.
She is also up against the three times album of the year Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift for Carolina from Where the Crawdads Sing. Swift wrote the song by herself. This is Swift's fourth nomination in the category, previous nominates include; Safe & Sound from The Hunger Games (2012), Sweeter Than Fiction from One Chance (2013), and Beautiful Ghosts from Cats (2019).
