99.9 The Fan's Awarded as 2022 North Carolina Sportscaster of Year

99.9 The Fan's Adam Gold (right) is awarded the North Carolina Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association on Monday, June 27, 2022.

The National Sports Media Association honored 99.9 Sports Talk Host Adam Gold as the North Carolina Sportscaster of the Year at an awards ceremony on Monday, June 27, 2022. The event took place at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, featuring such notable guests and award recipients as Charles Barkley, Hubert Davis, Scott Van Pelt and Ernie Johnson.

A well-deserved honor for Adam who belongs among the best of sports personalities, said WRAL-FM Brand/Content Manager Sammy Simpson.

Both Simpson and CBC Vice President of Radio Brian Maloney attended the event alongside Gold, to celebrate his achievement.

I have worked alongside Adam his entire tenure in the Triangle market - since 1998, said Maloney. I originally hired Adam as a part time talent and he quickly became THE voice of sports talk radio in Raleigh-Durham. Adam is one of the most prepared broadcasters I have ever worked with. He preps hours each day for his show and you can hear his passion every time you listen. Adam is more than deserving of this honor and we are lucky to have him on our team at CBC!
