Em toda Am rica Latina, os mercados de televis o por assinatura variam muito em termos de tamanho, alcance da TV paga e ARPU, sendo assim, est o em est gios muito diferentes de desenvolvimento.
Apesar dos n meros globais positivos para a regi o, alguns executivos da ind stria reconhecem que o crescimento das empresas de televis o por assinatura dif cil devido uma variedade de raz es, incluindo altos n veis de desigualdade econ mica, fortes ofertas de TV gratuita, crescente aceita o de servi os OTT e tamb m o aumento da pirataria na TV paga.

A TV tradicional ainda a primeira escolha entre os adultos de todas as idades quando se trata de exibir conte do, mas a ind stria global de TV por assinatura entrou em um per odo de interrup o. E um desafio em particular se mostrou mais desafiador que os demais: OTT
Como os fornecedores de OTT oferecem mais conte do on-demand e pacotes a pre os baixos, os consumidores est o come ando a exigir mais por menos de seus provedores de TV paga.
Considerando que na Am rica Latina os servi os de OTT ainda engatinham, 78% dos provedores de televis o por assinatura da regi o oferecem conectividade de IP, enquanto 80% oferecem servi os PVR. Alguns analistas veem esses n meros como um sinal do aumento antecipado do OTT na regi o.
78% dos principais operadores de televis o por assinatura na Am rica Latina atualmente oferecem servi os de TV everywhere, enquanto 22% tamb m oferecem servi os OTT independentes.
No entanto, eles ainda ficam significativamente atr s de seus pares norte- americanos e a m dia global tanto para TV everywhere quanto em servi os independentes de OTT, com 83% e 30% dos operadores oferecendo esses servi os, respectivamente.
Pirataria:
Os executivos da ind stria reconhecem que a pirataria de conte dos tornou-se um dos grandes problemas da ind stria de televis o por assinatura nos ltimos anos.
Enfatizando a import ncia do compartilhamento de informa es, os especialistas da ind stria tamb m acreditam que as empresas de televis o por assinatura precisam adotar parcerias e colaborar melhor com fornecedores de tecnologia ao entregarem esses novos produtos e servi os.
Para ficar no topo, os provedores de TV paga precisam superar os concorrentes de OTT e as empresas de internet em seu pr prio jogo. Para os mercados norte-americano e latino-americano, o caminho a frente de esperan a. Os provedores em ambas as regi es est o evoluindo seus servi os e aumentando o n mero de assinantes no processo.
