The Camera Map launches new edition

Pocket Films Ltd. has launched a new 2019 edition of the dedicated guide to cameras suppliers for the film, video & broadcast industry - THE CAMERA MAP.

THE CAMERA MAP launches as an online directory (www.thecameramap.com) and a printed pocket guide'. The aim of the guide is to provide a convenient, user-friendly and accurate resource for anyone looking to hire or buy pro motion cameras. At launch, over 30 hire and retail companies will be featured, including Take 2, VMI.TV, Presteigne, Arri, CVP, Pixipixel, Phantom, S+O Media and Blackmagic. The target audience for the new guide is cameramen, DOPs, line producers, production managers and coordinators looking for a professional and easy-to-navigate directory of camera suppliers.

Pocket Films's Publisher, Tony Franks, explains the concept behind THE CAMERA MAP. There is a lot of information about film and broadcast cameras already available, but it is often fragmented, buried inside large handbooks, out of date or poorly presented. In addition, it can be difficult for newcomers to the film business, like the growing numbers of indie filmmakers and producers, to shortlist camera suppliers. My mission is to make THE CAMERA MAP the most accessible and user-friendly resource for pro cameras .

The Web Site: The online site www.thecameramap.com comprises a listings section, an interactive map and an innovative search engine that allows users to shortlist suppliers using five criteria: Location, Keyword/s, Type of production, Brand of camera and Type of supplier (hire, sales or brand).

The Pocket Guide: The handy pocket guide has a distribution of 13,000 copies and features a selection of the suppliers listed online. These copies are distributed inside four leading industry magazines and also distributed directly to individuals and companies in the UK's film, TV and media sectors. The printed guide's listings section is cross referenced with a M25-area map which provides a clear graphic overview of supplier locations.
