ToolsOnAir Releases New Updates to Flagship Products

ToolsOnAir Broadcast Engineering, a leader in powerful, intuitive QuickTime-based applications for video broadcast professionals, is delivering on product announcements made at this years NAB Convention in April. Today, ToolsOnAir officially releases version 1.7 of just:in, and version 1.8 of just:play and just:live.

Version 1.7 of just:in multi, ToolsOnAirs acclaimed multicamera ingest solution, features adds support for XDCAM EX, HD and HD 422, as well as AVC-Intra 50/100 and H.264 codecs. Also new is the implementation of multiple recording destinations, improved support for proxy creation (also in an MP4 container), and full compatibility with new devices and drivers from AJA and Blackmagic Design.

Version 1.8 of just:play and just:live also include a wealth of new features, including a new image-based software installer, real-time log analyzer tool, and full integration withjust:control ToolsOnAirs new control and monitoring application, enabling failover control using redundant playout. Other new features include a new, advanced Spotlight-like Help function, new Placeholder functionality to allow content scheduling before uploading to the timeline, advanced codec and container support including MXF, MPEG2-TS, AvidLE compatible codecs, and support for US Closed Captioning standards.

Both products offer full support for MacOS Mavericks 10.9, as well as Apples new Mac Pro architecture, and hardware support has been extended to include Blackmagic Design Ultra Studio Mini Monitor, Ultra Studio 4K and ATEM Production switchers, JLCooper eBox, and EVERTZ routers supporting the Quartz protocol.

Were really excited about these new updates, and the benefits they bring to our customers, said Bruce Straight, ToolsOnAirs VP of Sales and Marketing. Our users can also expect some new features and enhancements to our live:cut and composition:builder applications at this years IBC Show, as well as announcements about some new products.
