Winning ideas of Telekom international innovation contest were introduced live in Warsaw

The runner-up Hungarian idea Cubilog was introduced live in operation to the general public.

On December 11 the Innovation Day Poland at T-Mobile Poland's headquarters in Warsaw marked the end of 2013's Telekom Innovation Contest . The winner Excalibur from Slovakia and runner-up Cubilog from Hungary presented their products at the event and share the result of their cooperation with Telekom started in June 2013 when they won the Pitch Day.

I am delighted that after the launch of the Telekom Innovation Contest in the beginning of 2013, we already see the first actual results of our cooperation with the winners here today - said jury member Dr. Heinrich Arnold, Global Head of Telekom Innovation Laboratories.

As reported earlier, in Berlin a jury composed of international experts awarded the winners of the Telekom International Innovation Contest. Altogether 444 ideas were entered from 45 countries of four continents. In the final the Slovakian Excalibur team came in first, while the runner-up was Cubilog from Hungary. On December 11 at a demonstration in Warsaw creators introduced their winning entries. In cooperation with the experts of the Telekom Group ideas will be developed into products or prototypes, resources will also be provided in the value of Euro 500,000.

Magyar Telekom was represented in the jury by R bert Pataki, chief business development officer, who confirmed on the subject of the Warsaw event: We see great potentials in the idea of Cubilog - a cloud based data collection and verification system - therefore we granted support in developing it further. We believe so much in the idea that we offer the possibility of further developing it in a live test environment, in the frame of the T-City Szolnok project .

The international contest was jointly initiated by T-Mobile Poland and Telekom Innovation Laboratories in Germany, however organizing the event and the selection process were also supported the incubation laboratory of DT, hub:raum Germany and Poland, UQBate and Kitchen Budapest.

Applications were entered to the first innovation contest of Telekom by almost 700 start-ups and individuals, including the employees of the company. Participants could put themselves to the test in five categories. Following several pre-selection and pre-jury rounds, of the 444 ideas 12 finalists tried to convince the six member international jury about the viability of their products or services.
