Active Circle acquired by the Oodrive Group Paris, August 18th, 2014 - Oodrive, the specialist in online file management, announces the acquisition of Active Circle, the expert in storing large data volumes.

Active Circle offers software solutions for storing, protecting and sharing large sets of data in the Media, Scientific and Imaging sectors. Active Circle was created in 2002 by former Quadratec / Atempo management, and has attracted $15 million in funding. Active Circle's technology is designed for storing large volumes of files, supporting up to petabytes, with a high level of data protection at a low cost. It provides indexing functionality and specialized user interfaces for video and image files. Active Circle supplies its technology to a hundred of customers, most of them large and data-intensive accounts.

This new acquisition allows Oodrive to bolster its position as the leader in the online file management market by gaining new technical know-how and strengthening its strategy of offering professional solutions for storing and sharing files tailored to specific business needs.

Our professional customers are digitizing their business workflows and are increasingly working with large data like images and video. They demand solutions for storing and sharing the data. With Active Circle and their technology, we will reinforce our skills in this area, and we will be able to offer a solution for archiving very large volumes, based on Hybrid Cloud architecture.

Active Circle will relocate to the Oodrive headquarters in Paris in October. The complementary nature of the two companies' products and services extend primarily to business areas they have in common, specifically the Media & Entertainment, Scientific and Imaging markets, with new product offerings coming to market during 2015.
