Alcatel-Lucent and Thales finalize their strategic partnership in cyber security services

Paris, October 31, 2014 - Today, Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext: ALU) and Thales (Euronext: HO) have signed their strategic partnership with a contract whereby Thales acquires the cyber-security services & solutions and the communications security activities of Alcatel-Lucent.
This agreement comes as part of a strategic partnership, established in May 2014 that will allow Alcatel-Lucent and Thales to provide highly advanced solutions to secure communications, drawing on Thales's unique expertise in cyber-security services, and on Alcatel-Lucents know-how in secure networks and advanced security features in its telecommunications products. Thales is committed to provide its expertise to Alcatel-Lucent for its own needs.
Thanks to this strategic partnership between the two companies, Thales strengthens its position in cyber-security consistently with its ambition to grow in promising security sectors and to offer solutions that ensure the integrity and resilience of its customers' information systems. For Alcatel-Lucent, the partnership will enable the company to strengthen its position in the field of secure networks and to offer to its customers end-to-end network security solutions, combining its integrated security expertise in telecommunication products with complementary services.
The cyber-security services and communications security activities of Alcatel Lucent employ around 100 staff, mainly based in France and in three other European countries.
