RT and independent Irish producers receive 19 Nominations for the

2024 Celtic Media Festival

Presenters Sanjeev Kohli and Cathy MacDonald yesterday announced the full list of nominees for the Torc Awards for Excellence, unveiling those in the running at this year's Celtic Media Festival: The International Summit of Sound and Screen.

Taking place from the 4th to 6th of June 2024 in Cardiff, the annual three-day celebration will see nominees come together celebrating the diverse body of work from talented creatives across Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Cornwall, Brittany and Galicia at the daily award ceremonies, with RT , BBC, Sky, France 3 Bretagne, TG4, Televisi n de Galicia and S4C all in the running for prestigious trophies.

RT 's black comedy Obituary is nominated alongside the Amazon Prime/Televisi n de Galicia thriller Operaci n Marea Negra, as well as BBC Scotland/BBC Two hit thriller Guilt, and BBC One miniseries Steeltown Murders.

RT Raidi na Gaeltachta's M ir n N Ghadhra is nominated for Presenter of the Year, while the station's moving tribute to pioneering Irish-language broadcaster R n n Mac Aodha Bhu is nominated in the Entertainment category alongside productions from Scotland and Wales.

The festival is core funded by BBC Cymru Wales, BBC Northern Ireland, RT , TG4, MG ALBA, BBC Scotland, S4C, Televisi n de Galicia, BBC England, Coimisi n na Me n, Northern Ireland Screen ILBF and USBF, Screen Ireland, Screen Scotland, Screen Cornwall.
