SCTE/ISBE PRESIDENT AND CEO MARK DZUBAN TO BE HONORED WITH

VETERANS OF INFLUENCE AWARD BY PHILADEPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL

MAY 20, 2016 (Exton, PA)-Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and its global arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE), has been named an honoree in the second annual Veterans of Influence Awards program conducted by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Dzuban will be recognized along with Carol Eggert, Vice President, Military and Veteran Affairs for Comcast and Brigadier General (R), U.S. Army, and 17 other honorees at a cocktail reception and awards program Thursday, July 21 at the Ballroom at the Ben in Philadelphia. The honorees also will be profiled in the July 22 edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

After serving as a combat logistics specialist based at the United States 8th Army's South Korea headquarters in 1966-'67, Dzuban embarked on a five-decade career as a cable system operator, vendor, entrepreneur and innovator.

With SCTE/ISBE, Dzuban has spearheaded new cable technology initiatives in education, certification, standards and thought leadership. He also has been instrumental in industry efforts on behalf of veterans: driving fund-raising efforts for the SCTE Foundation; shifting the Foundation's focus to development of career opportunities for veterans, women and minorities; and serving on an Advisory Task Force on Veteran Talent in the Media Industry, part of cable's Mission Media program.

Earlier this year, Dzuban and Eggert collaborated to pilot a new effort in support of veterans that is leveraging the joint capabilities of SCTE/ISBE, the SCTE Foundation, Comcast and Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE). The pilot program is designed to combine SCTE/ISBE training and certification, GTPE's Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET2) program and Comcast internships to enable up to 40 high-potential transitioning service members to embark on new career paths, as well as to provide a source of highly trained individuals for the cable workforce.

The Veterans of Influence Awards are designed to honor the individuals who have helped to serve their country and are now serving their community in the Greater Philadelphia area.
