TVN is expanding its competence center for aerial video with a focus on the TVN Live-Copter. In addition to certified personnel, the broadcasting service provider is

investing in technical infrastructure and the further development of complex workflows. TVN is optimally positioned to produce aerial shots live and in broadcast quality.

The TVN Aerial Solutions department combines professional teams, highly innovative, highperformance technology and well-established work processes. The concept of the TVN Live-Copter is becoming increasingly important. It convinces by the implementation of a stable picture transmission in Full HD broadcast quality. Furthermore, the signal transfer was designed in such a way that the live signal (including Tally, return signal and intercom solution) can be integrated into the production process without any loss of quality. In addition to the signal quality, special attention was paid to the safety, flight duration and balance of the camera systems.

The TVN Live-Copter is a great enrichment for our Bundesliga camera concept. The technical integration is smooth and the new perspective offers great added value for the image composition, says G nter Frantzen, Product Executive of Sportcast. By integrating augmented reality graphics at selected top games, we use a further innovative added value of aerial video. The result is a flying special camera setup which offers new perspectives and thus additional possibilities for innovative image design for every open air production.

The transmission technology of the TVN Live-Copter is probably unique in Germany. The TVN drone

fleet now comprises around 20 multicopters for a wide range of applications. All TVN pilots possess

the current knowledge proof, are certified according to the current legal situation and have various

production experiences.

In particular with the live transmission the demand for high-quality aerial video grows strongly, so

As a full service provider, TVN has developed its own structures for the complex approval procedures

in addition to professional signal transmission and customer-oriented image design. These workflows

internationally, which is why deployments of TVN Live-Copters have been able to establish at highquality

live productions within a short time.

Based on smooth operations and high security standards, more than 100 productions are realized

annually with TVN aerial images, including soccer broadcasts for Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, UEFA

Champions League, UEFA Europa League incl. Final 2020, UEFA European Qualifiers, DFLSupercup

and UEFA Nations League 2020.

In 2020 the TVN Live-Copter could deliver impressions of the Telekom Street Gig with James Blunt in

the Elbphilharmonie (MagentaMusik 360), the ITU World Triathlon in Hamburg (ARD/ZDF) and the

replacement event of the Berlin Marathon 2020 (RBB), this production providing spectacular flights

around the Victory Volumn. Previous references include various open air events such as concerts as

well as trade fairs and other industrial events, ship and aircraft christenings.

The portfolio of TVN Aerial Solutions ranges from classical aerial video to special competencies such

as 360 shots or augmented reality productions.
