Who doesn't love a great mixture of drama and comedy? This February, kykNET's new series, Mooiweer en Warm will follow pastor Issie (played by Marisa Drummond), who, like many others is trying to keep her congregation together. It is for this reason that she agrees to sign a contract with Alex Kemp (Geon Nel) to use the church grounds for a flea market every Saturday. But, will everything go according to plan?

The highs and lows of a weekend church flea market Written by the acclaimed writer Paul C. Venter (Arende, Konings, Vlug na Egipte and Terug na Egipte), and directed by Zandr Coetzer and Ephraim Gordon, viewers can expect to see the highs and lows of a weekend church flea market and the people who run it.
While the characters share a glimpse of their salt-of-the-earth lives, the dam on the top of the hill brings a sense of dread and anticipation to viewers. The dam might burst due to heavy rain, but the only people who know about the possible danger are the scientists who are not necessarily known for their people skills. As the series unfolds and viewers get to know the characters, there is one question that needs to be answered: What will happen if a big storm comes? Will the dam hold?

Viewers can expect to see well-known actors such as Carla Smith, Br milda van Rensburg, Andr Samuels, Beer Adriaanse, Susan Danford, Jacques Theron, Tinarie van Wyk Loots, Deon Lotz, Ira Blanckenberg, Kim Cloete among many others.

I've always wanted to do a series about a flea market, said Venter. While I was busy doing research at a real flea market, somebody mentioned how dangerous it would be if a market would catch fire. That made me think about other disasters that could mean the end of a market and the question: Will it or won't it? I think it is going to keep viewers intrigued to the end.
Mooiweer en Warm starts on Tuesday, 7 February at 20:00 on kykNET (DStv channel 144) and will also be available on Catch Up.
