Mr. D. (Ryan Reynolds, R.I.P.D.), a history teacher with a different approach to public education, competes with a stuffy biology teacher, Matt Warner, (David Paymer, Bad Teacher) for the "Teacher of the Year" award in the small town of Fallbrook, California. When Warner discovers a secret about Mr. D that could cost him the title, the entire town of Fallbrook learns an important lesson that cant be taught in a classroom. Directed by William Dear (The Perfect Game), School of Life also stars Kate Vernon (Battlestar Galactica) and John Astin (The Addams Family).

Sunday, Aug. 18:

Debbie Johnston: Richmond, CA

Debbie Johnston, owner of health-care agency Care Advantage, spends a week working with grassroots organizations in Richmond, California, including a community centre, a studio art program for adults with disabilities, and a food-production organization. In the end, Johnston surprises unsuspecting volunteers with a donation to their organizations.
