06-20-2013 Wiesbaden Committed! event day: The SGL Group supports Erich K stner Schule in Wiesbaden-Schierstein Wiesbaden, June 20, 2013. Once again, the SGL Group The Carbon Company is taking part in the 9th Wiesbaden Committed! event (official German title: Wiesbaden Engagiert! ) being held on June 21, 2013. This year, the SGL Group is teaming up with the Erich K stner Schule, which is right in the same neighborhood of our corporate head office. In this year's project, 13 SGL Group employees from the Wiesbaden location will be working with pupils from the Erich K stner Schule to build a terrace in front of the school kiosk with seating, decorative elements and a new material for the ground.

We highly value social involvement in the community, especially at our company's locations. We are happy that, thanks to our support, the pupils of the Erich K stner Schule will now have a nice place for recess with the new, redesigned kiosk terrace.

Our employees in Wiesbaden donated 450 to build the terrace. The SGL Group assumed the additional expenses for the new terrace, totaling around 3,000. The garden and landscape department of Infraserv Wiesbaden is also supporting the project by providing its expertise and a steam shovel and driver free of charge. An opening celebration for the new terrace will be held with a group barbecue, and SGL cafeteria operator FPS CATERING of Frankfurt sponsoring the food.

The Wiesbaden Comitted!' project day is organized by the CC service office of the Wiesbaden Social Welfare department.

In addition to the SGL Group, 95 other companies are getting involved in this project over the entire city area. Over 900 people will be volunteering in over 85 separate projects and pitching in for a good cause. The range of projects is quite diverse from projects with and for children and young people, the elderly or ill, or people with disabilities and their families. Training courses, excursions, presentations and celebrations are being held in schools, kindergartens and homes for the elderly, all of which was only possible on this day with the support of the companies' employees. Once the work is done, everyone involved will be throwing an after-work party.
