09-23-2013 Start of apprenticeships 2013 at SGL Group 43 apprentices throughout Germany are starting their professional education
Wiesbaden/Germany, September 23, 2013. 43 apprentices will launch their careers with SGL Group - The Carbon Company at its facilities in Bonn, Limburg, Lemwerder and Meitingen: Seven industrial mechanics, five cutting machine operators, seven machine and plant operators, nine process engineers, four electronics engineers, two chemical laboratory workers, four industrial managers and one forwarding agent. SGL Group is also partnering with universities to offer four students a dual course of study and work so that they can gain intensive practical experience during their studies.
The apprentices were welcomed by personnel managers, site managers and the Works Councils. At this time, they were provided with basic information about training processes and given guided tours of the facilities.
"The number of apprenticeships depends on the sites requirements for qualified people. This program is an integral component in developing a pipeline of future SGL employees," explained Hans-Josef Moor, Head of Training in Germany.
There are presently 143 pupils in training at SGL Group locations across Germany. These apprentices are integrated as full members into a global team from day one.

This is why well trained young talent even during difficult times is essential to the success of our company.
