Agent from Above' Celebrates Divine Ascent to Global Ranking With Exclusive Cast and Behind-The-Scenes Photos

Following its premiere on April 2, fantasy-action series Agent from Above continues to demonstrate strong global appeal, ranking sixth on the latest Global Non-English TV series list (March 30 to April 5) with 1.4 million views and 8.1 million hours viewed. The series also broke into the Weekly Top 10 across six countries, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Dominican Republic, underscoring its resonance with audiences worldwide. To celebrate the enthusiastic reception, Netflix unveils brand-new cast and behind-the-scenes photos, offering fans a fresh look at the ensemble behind the breakout hit.
The series has earned widespread acclaim, with many viewers binge-watching all eight episodes on day one and driving a surge of social buzz. Audiences have praised its Hollywood-caliber visual effects, emotionally charged storytelling - especially the climactic final battle - and the inventive supernatural elements, including Han Chieh's (Kai Ko) use of mystical milk caps to conjure weapons. Performances have also resonated strongly, with Wang Po-chieh's portrayal of the Third Crown Prince emerging as a standout. Overall, the series is being hailed as both deeply satisfying and a contender for series of the year.
The climactic finale sees Han Chieh and the Third Crown Prince face off against the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven (Leon Dai) in the series' most explosive showdown. Reflecting on the sequence, Ko shared that much of the performance relied on imagination, guided by the director's vision for the visual effects. From combat choreography to impact reactions, every detail required precise calibration, making the final result both astonishing and deeply rewarding.
Wang Po-chieh's portrayal of the Third Crown Prince has also captivated audiences, earning praise for its modern, stylish, and charismatic edge. He approached the role with a contemporary, slightly rebellious sensibility while grounding it in human emotion. Beyond the striking exterior, he emphasized the tension between divinity and humanity as the character's core, adding that what matters most is that audiences believe in the character's reality.
As enthusiasm for the series continues to grow online, director Kuan Wei-chieh described the response as surreal, sharing that each wave of audience discussion feels like an unexpected delight and that the series now seems to be leading the team into new, uncharted territory. Director Lai Chun-yu expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that the strong resonance of a Taiwan-rooted story is the greatest affirmation for the team and a testament to the global appeal of local narratives. Widely praised for its Hollywood-caliber visual effects (VFX), the series has also drawn attention for its technical achievements. VFX supervisor Kuo Hsien-tsung shared appreciation for the audience response, especially to the Third Crown Prince's final reveal, and expressed hope for more diverse projects that will continue to push creative boundaries.

Synopsis: Blending traditional folk beliefs with modern fantasy, Agent from Above follows Han Chieh (Kai Ko), a spirit medium bound to serve the Third Crown Prince (Wang Po-chieh) to atone for a childhood mistake by resolving supernatural disturbances in the human world. Along the way, he meets the optimistic college student Yeh Tzu (Buffy Chen) and detective Chang Min (Johnny Yang), who can see spirits.
Together, they face deadly confrontations with the mysterious and ruthless villain Chen Chi-sha (Chen Yi-wen), while uncovering the truth behind Wu Tien-chi (Hsueh Shih-ling), a being threatening the balance between the human and demon realms - leading Han Chieh to rediscover his purpose and the true meaning of his gift.
