MLB Network covers Spring Training with 50 games

Secaucus, NJ, February 14, 2013 MLB Network is gearing up for the 2013 regular season with the return of 30 Clubs in 30 Days and more than 150 Spring Training games throughout February and March. Bryce Harper and the 2012 NL East Champion Washington Nationals face David Wright and the New York Mets to start off MLB Networks Spring Training game schedule on Saturday, February 23 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The remainder of the schedule includes every MLB club in at least five matchups, plus four World Baseball Classic exhibition games leading up to MLB Networks exclusive English-language telecast of the World Baseball Classic in the U.S. beginning March 1.

30 Clubs in 30 Days returns tomorrow, February 15 during MLB Tonight with the most comprehensive Spring Training coverage with field reports, interviews, predictions and inside access to every MLB clubs training camp in Arizona and Florida. Starting Friday, MLB Network analysts Eric Byrnes, Dan Plesac, insider Peter Gammons and reporters Alanna Rizzo and Sam Ryan will travel to each camp to cover the biggest storylines as clubs report to Spring Training, including Josh Hamilton reporting to camp with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Toronto Blue Jays revamped roster. 30 Clubs in 30 Days will also break down each clubs offseason moves, a look at projected lineups and pitching rotations and previews of top prospects for the 2013 season. MLB Network will keep fans updated through Facebook and Twitter by posting photos, videos, quotes and information from its Spring Training coverage and 30 Clubs in 30 Days.

MLB Network will reveal its ranking of the best players in the game in Top 100 Players Right Now, also beginning tomorrow, February 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET. Over five episodes, Greg Amsinger, Al Leiter, Plesac and Harold Reynolds will count down the top players in MLB based on player performance over the past several seasons with an emphasis on 2012, projected 2013 performance taking into account players returning from injury and young players expected to break out, base-running, and defensive value. From Elvis Andrus to Jordan Zimmermann, the Top 100 includes talents as young as 20-year old Mike Trout and as experienced as 43-year old Mariano Rivera. The list also features nine Cy Young Award winners, five AL and five NL MVP Award winners, 11 Rookie of the Year winners and 28 Gold Glove winners. The series will continue on Friday, February 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET with players 80-61 and players 60-41 at 10:00 p.m. ET. The countdown concludes on Tuesday, February 26 with the rankings for players 40-21 at 9:00 p.m. ET and the top 20 players in baseball at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Extended content captured during 30 Clubs in 30 Days and the entire Top 100 Players Right Now series will be made available through video on demand with distributors nationwide including AT&T U-verse, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV, DISH Network and Verizon FiOS, as well as at MLBNetwork.com. Each Spring Training game aired on MLB Network will be a carriage of local telecasts, including local announcers, and blacked out in each clubs home market unless otherwise noted.
