Web series Scattered from Passionfruit Bites has been greenlit for production and will start filming in Melbourne in February. The series is the first production to be distributed exclusively on TikTok to receive development and production funding from Screen Australia.

The 38 x 1 minute series is produced by Hayley Adams and Michelle Melky, who previously produced successful TikTok series Love Songs, which has now amassed over 12 million views and 2.5 million likes.

Scattered follows three best friends Jules, Sami and Bo the day after their friend Wil's funeral, when they wake up with brutal hangovers and one less person Wil well, his ashes that is. Over the series, the friends retrace their steps to find their friend's ashes and give him the send-off he deserves.

Producer Hayley Adams says, We knew we wanted to make more content for TikTok, and Scattered felt like the right project for the platform. TikTok is a filmmaker s dream. You can really get your content seen by an audience that wants to see it. As Scattered is a queer series, we hope that its deeply personal narrative will resonate with the platform s diverse audiences.

Scattered was co-created by Logan Mucha (Dani Boi) and Kate Darrigan. Both served as writers on the series, with Adolfo Aranjuez rounding out the writing team.

Director Logan Mucha said, I'm excited to share our intimate story of how young people navigate grief and friendship through a uniquely queer lens. TikTok was the perfect opportunity to explore a new way of storytelling, while connecting with its passionate and engaged users.

Scattered is an innovative and moving drama exploring themes of grief, friendship and identity and I look forward to seeing it next year.

Scattered will go into production in February 2021.
