Christie ha anunciado hoy las demostraciones de la arquitectura de proyecci n l ser y Dolby 3D m s avanzada del mundo que se llevar n a cabo a cabo en los espacios Christie Innovation en CinemaCon 2014, que tendr lugar en el Caesars Palace de Las Vegas del 24 a 27 de marzo y en NAB, del 5 a 10 de abril.
Los proyectores l ser Christie DLP Cinema, que utilizan los m dulos de l ser en color 6 Primary (6P) que a comienzos de 2015 comenzar n a fabricarse masivamente, pondr n de relieve que es posible mejorar considerablemente los niveles de iluminaci n 3D, la uniformidad de la imagen, la comodidad del visionado y la sensaci n de inmersi n, sobre todo en combinaci n con la tecnolog a de separaci n avanzada como Dolby 3D, en relaci n con los sistemas 3D convencionales que en la actualidad se emplean en salas de cine de todo el mundo.
Don Shaw, director s nior de gesti n de Producto de Christie Entertainment Solutions, reconoce que la ca da en el n mero de espectadores de salas de cine 3D que recientemente se ha detectado indicar a no solo que la novedad ha dejado de serlo: tambi n una menor disposici n del espectador a pagar de m s por lo que, a menudo, es una experiencia m s bien mediocre. La pobreza de esa experiencia es fruto de una serie de limitaciones t cnicas en las arquitecturas 3D actuales. La m s grave es la de los limitados niveles lum nicos, entre un 10% y un 30% de los que se alcanzan con presentaciones 2D. Simplificando, dir que las pel culas son demasiado oscuras, dejando al p blico la tarea de distinguir detalles importantes que componen la imagen que se despliega ante sus ojos .
La ltima tecnolog a de proyecci n l ser de Christie, que usa seis colores primarios espec ficos en lugar de luz blanca de amplio espectro filtrada o polarizada, mejora radicalmente la eficiencia de los sistemas de proyecci n 3D, sea cual sea el tama o de pantalla de las grandes salas de cine. Pensamos que este avance es el futuro de la proyecci n de cine 3D, un futuro que est a la vuelta de la esquina y que va a ser un factor fundamental para incrementar los ingresos de taquilla del 3D en todo el mundo. Nuestras demos en CinemaCon y NAB Show, los primeros eventos de l ser 6P realizados para la gran comunidad del cine, de directores de pel culas a exhibidores, confirman el compromiso de ochenta a os de Christie con la innovaci n cinematogr fica y que va m s all de la promesa de moverse m s all del cine digital lanzada por algunos otros agentes del sector , ha a adido Shaw.
Los proyectores l ser 6P de Christie, que como poco duplican la eficiencia de los mejores 3D actuales, dan lugar a un mix propietario de longitudes de ondas de luz foto pticamente optimizadas para cada ojo directamente desde la fuente, eliminando as la necesidad de tener que pasar por un estadio, altamente ineficiente, de filtrado o polarizaci n de la luz que sale del proyector. En las demos, Christie utilizar gafas Dolby 3D preparadas ex profeso para acoplarse a las longitudes de onda de luz l ser 6P y conseguir as una eficiencia lum nica cercana al 90%.
Para Shaw los profesionales del sector ven, con raz n, en esa t cnica de separaci n de color para 3D un referente clave, sobre todo por su realismo crom tico, la compatibilidad con pantallas blancas de baja ganancia y por su buen comportamiento frente a la diafon a. A todo ello se suma que ahora se puede incorporar a un sistema infinitamente m s eficiente desde el punto de vista lum nico .
Por su parte, Doug Darrow, vicepresidente s nior de Cine de Dolby Laboratories, sostiene que la avanzada tecnolog a de separaci n de color de Dolby 3D resulta perfecta para la pr xima generaci n de proyectores l ser. Con una elevad sima eficiencia lum nica, pr cticamente sin diafon a y con unas im genes de gran nitidez y vivos colores pensamos que la combinaci n de Dolby 3D y proyecci n l ser genera una experiencia de visionado 3D para audiencias cinematogr ficas inmejorable .
Matt Cowan, cofundador y consejero t cnico s nior de Entertainment Technology Consultants, es de la misma opini n: tuve ocasi n de contemplar una de las primeras demostraciones de l ser 6P en el centro de ingenier a, investigaci n y desarrollo para todo el mundo que Christie tiene en Canad , y puedo afirmar, sin temor a equivocarme, que se trata de una innovaci n crucial e ilusionante para el cine 3D. Solo queda esperar a ver c mo se va perfeccionando la tecnolog a y su implantaci n en las grandes salas de cine de todo el mundo .
En l nea con los esfuerzos realizados hasta la fecha en el desarrollo de los proyectores l ser 3 Primary (3P), que para Christie han resuelto necesidades importantes de varias industrias no cinematogr ficas, los proyectores l ser de Christie est n llamados a proporcionar un brillo que, con hasta 72.000 l menes por cabeza de proyector, se situar a la cabeza de la industria, as como un espectro de color m s amplio, un contraste mayor y unas exigencias de mantenimiento radicalmente menores.
