B&B economy blooms in Siming Mountain area

With its unique natural resources, the Siming Mountain area in Yuyao County has developed its B&B economy on a smooth basis. In recent years, the five B&B clustering areas have been established, including the Old Persimmon Tree Villa in Dalan Town, the Yaojiang River Source B&B area, the B&B area of Jinguan Village of Lizhou Street, the 8 Minus B&B area and the B&B area in Zhongcun Village of Luting Township. So far, there are about 30 B&B hotels in Yuyao County, with over 1500 guest beds, all in the Siming Mountain area.

According to statistics from Yuyao Tourism Bureau, in the first half of this year, the B&B hotels in Siming Mountain area received 72,360 visits, with a total business revenue of 40.08 million yuan, u by 25.7% and 30.4% respectively. "The B&B hotels have become a major breakthrough for leisure tourism development and farm income rise in the Siming Mountain area." said a government official of Dalan Town of Yuyao County.

A lot of capitals have been attracted to the B&B economy in the county. In April 2016, the Sifeng Quality B&B project, invested by the Bivou International Co. Ltd., was signed, becoming the first quality hotel project by an international investment team in Yuyao County. A lot of B&B tourist projects in Luting Township, including the Wind Club Eco-villa, the Luming Academy and the Tiangang Mountain Eco-sightseeing Park, are invested by some powerful private enterprises from Yuyao County or even Ningbo.

All the towns and townships in the Siming Mountain area have made efforts to develop their own B&B economy. Based on the infrastructure renovation, the landscape treatment of local villages, and the strengthening of natural and cultural resources protection, Dalan Town has made itself a highland for B&B hotels. With the coordinated ecological project construction in the Siming Mountain area, the Luting Township has encouraged such villages as the Zhongcun Village, Bailu Village and Donggang Village to develop their featured B&B hotels on the basis of their ancient village landscape and interactive activities, which has helped the township to become the benchmark of the B&B hotels in East Zhejiang Province and even in the whole province.

With the increasing support of the government, the B&B economy looks forward to a brighter future. Since June this year, the county has carried out the administration rules for the B&B hotels, providing an open and tolerant policy environment for the B&B economy in Siming Mountain area. In the following one year starting from July 2016, the individuals or villages meeting the standards for the development of B&B hotels may receive an award of up to 100,000 yuan. For the B&B-related activities including promotion and publicity, business attraction and theme forums, the sponsoring townships or streets may receive an award of 10,000 yuan for each activity.
