The company are pleased to announce the installation of their Synapse PACS and Synapse 3D product at Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH) is a leading orthopaedic centre of excellence with a reputation for innovation. The Trust provides a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal surgical, medical and rehabilitation services; locally, regionally and nationally.

Completing around 90,000 studies per year, the Trust selected Fujifilm as prime contractors for the provision of a new Picture Archiving & Communication System, a Radiology Information System and Computed Radiography modalities.

Fujifilm's Synapse PACS is a 100% web based solution,guaranteeing the same intuitive PACS experience and efficient workflow for Synapse users anywhere in the Hospital.

Commenting on the recent installation, Eric Hughes, Diagnostics Divisional Manager at RJAH said: "The Fujifilm system went live in early September and we've been delighted with how the Fujifilm personnel have been on hand to help ensure the smoothest possible transition for us. Synapse PACS allows us to store, manage and access Radiology images in a simple and effective way. The integrated Synapse 3D and MPR functions have been very well received by clinicians both in and outside Radiology. The availability of a Quarantine partition on Synapse PACS is something we didn't have in our old PACS. This, along with the intuitive web based PACS admin tool (SWAT) allows us to semi-automate the day to day administration of PACS, thus improving the overall efficiency of our PACS team. We successfully went live with our new RIS from Healthcare Software Systems (HSS), as part of the Fujifilm managed service contract. This went very smoothly as we were already using an HSS RIS provided under the LSP programme. Having been live with Synapse for two months now, I am very confident we have made the best choice in Fujifilm as our PACS supplier."
